During veterinary school, we were given mentors, or guidance counsellors during our first week - Seasoned professors and veterinarians within our school who were selected to assist us in our four years there. However, the first year out for a newly graduated veterinarian is the most important year for developing your skills as a practitioner. The lack of mentorship was high on the list of reasons that new grads were leaving their first practice.
Again, I was browsing Instagram and came across a post on mentorship. This veterinarian has started a page that you can sign up to be a mentor or a mentee. The goal is to connect people in their appropriate fields with mentors to assist them. Anyway, I’d thought to share!
